You can 100% add an SSD. You will have to clone your hard drive to the SSD and make sure that that the hard drive is formatted for GBT otherwise you won't be able to clone from the hard drive in the machine to the SSD. It's not a difficult process but definitely something I recommend looking up. Also, this particular machine has an annoying bracket in the middle, so if you have large hands you'll either have to remove that or be really devoted to getting the sata cable plugged in if you aren't using an M2 ssd.
