“Why do I have to do a reset every time I turn the power on to.the receiver”

• Try another outlet/or use a surge protector and another outlet. You may be overloading the circuit and this will destroy anything plugged in to that outlet. Especially if you live in a old apartment or home. If that doesn't work, RETURN IT. Hopefully you bought a protection plan.
