The receiver is great will be a good up grade. I lost a Receiver, 50 inch Tv, and DVR from a cable lightening strike There protection plan is highly recommended with installation bought 60 inch smart tv receiver aperid to be fine but the HDMI took the hit it became a glorified radio every thing après to work cannot be repaired with out a plan . very happy with geek squad found the problems now I have more options did not know I had with the TX-NR686 the TX-NR696 Is great . love to get the original one fixed hope I was help full
