• You would need a hard wired internet connection. Does not do wi-fi.

• If you have an internet line,you can phone service. The unit has to be plugged into the internet.

• Yes, I believe it is a VOIP device. It does require an ethernet cable to connect Ooma device and the internet gateway/router/switch.
