“I want to upgrade the sound of this projector but don't want to change to much my current set-up: Phone, Chromecast, Projector. I want to buy a sound system (preferably Sonos ) that can help me this but am not sure it is as simple as a cable and a Beam?”

Receivers will allow you to do almost anything. Just buy a HDMI cord to hook up from your receiver to your projector. I purchased a heavy-duty 25 ft HDMI cord from Amazon and now the possibilities are endless.
