The case itself has the screen facing out for the Defender Pro. However, mine, at least came with a 'holster' which allows you to carry it facing out, or turned around protecting the face.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In the belt clip, the phone can face either way because the indents the belt clip clips into are halfway between the front and back on the side of the phone, and centered top to bottom. In the case, obviously the phone's back is protected and the hole is the for the camera bump, and the screen is entirely exposed. If you want screen protection you should add a screen protector. They removed those terrible built-in plastic screen protector dust magnets from the Defender line some time ago.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It faces out! But there's lips on each end of the screen so it will never fall on the screen unless you catch it directly on a corner. Same with the camera bump too. I've been buying these for 15 years and it's never let me down
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Well technically yeah it does but like most phone cases the edges around the screen are raised so that if the phone is dropped it does not hit the screen and break it it hits the outer lip of the case. Personally at work do great for my phone and just because I tend to drop in sometimes throw things I also got their $35 lifetime warranty screen protector so if the screen protector ever breaks it is replaced by free for the life of my product!
