Yes, this will kill any type of flying insect, including flies.

They use an ultraviolet light, which excites insects and lures them into an electric grid where they are electrocuted and fall harmlessly to the ground. In order for an insect to be attracted to this type of unit, they need to be attracted to ultraviolet light (also known as phototropic insects).
