“Can the power level be changed while the microwave is operating or do you have to stop the microwave & program for the new level. My previous microwave was a Panasonic and this was so annoying. I know GE can be changed while operating.”

You can't change the power level while it's running, but the manual says that you can set up to 3 stages (e.g., 5 minutes at 50% then 4 minutes at 80% then 3 minutes at 100%) before you start the unit. I haven't tried it though.
