Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't think it's that type of blu-ray player like your old one. It actually sucks, I should've taken it back but was too lazy because it was an open box item. I played one movie & it was freezing, I cleaned it twice and it still kept doing it. It keep my movies in good shape, looking as new but you never know the reason. I stream mostly everything but my suggestion to you would be to buy a receiver. I'd recommend the pioneer vsx-lx504, it does everything and you won't be disappointed. I have it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Well yes and no, your panasonic probably had build in amplifiers to run your speakers this new player doesnt you would have to buy a separate amplifier to run speakers and use this new players hdmi out to that new reciever to send video signal, but heres the no, if speaker resistance or ohms is not 6 or 8 it will not be a good idea to use those speakers and you would probably have to buy all new 8 ohms speakers to match the resistance of your new amp. If you use speakers with lower than 6 ohms say 4 ,3 ,2 or 1.5 you will damage new unit or as soon as you turn volume up reciver will shut down and go into protecion mode as it cant handle that low speaker resistance. I would buy new amp and speakers to use this unit. But if dvd is the only thing broken and amp still works then you can try to find if unit has hdmi in to send new signal to it ,but beware of HDMI HDCP 2.2 is not compatible with old hdmi devices, but with this unit you can go into the menu and under HDMI goto HDCP auto and select 1.3. This will make it compatible with your 14 year old unit. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This blue ray player does not have a separate amplifier to power your speakers like your previous all in one system. You would have to purchase an amplifier/receiver along with this blue ray player.
