One is combo video and audio out the other is just audio out. I just use the combo one. Using both and splitting the video and audio (like video straight to TV and audio straight to a A/V receiver or sound bar or something like that) is supposed to give better picture and audio I believe since you are splitting the data up. How much better I guess just depends on your system and if it's really worth it.
