• They require the hue hub. Once you have that you can connect many hue bulbs.

• You need a Hue Bridge to use the bulbs with an Echo or when you're not in the same area as the bulb. The newest model supports Bluetooth so you can control the bulb with the app and no bridge using your device but only when you're local.
