Yes, these are the new type of Hue that have Bluetooth as well. You can only do up to ten lamps with Bluetooth and you have to be closer than when you’re using a hub. The Bluetooth connection only works on one device and you have to download a Philips Hue Bluetooth version of the app.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, this is a bluetooth bulb. So, it does not require a hub. I simply added the bulb to my Alexa app and it immediately discovered it and responds to voice commands. I have the Hue bluetooth colored bulbs as well - and they too didn't require a hub. As long as the bulb you're purchasing has the bluetooth icon on the box, it doesn't require a hub.
