The Hue Hub needs to be connected to your internet service, I hooked ours up with the WIFI and is working well. You can control your lights while your away from your house or while your sitting in your living room, by using the Phillips Hue app on your smart phone or tablet. You can also use this product with your Google Home device using voice commands by setting up Hue on your Google Home application.

Your bulbs will then communicate with the bridge. You must download the Hues Ap & if you are using Alexa u will link ur bulbs to Alexa in the App
