For all Hue lights, you’ll need the bridge, which connects to your modem. If you’re only looking for one bulb, I’d recommend LIFX. Their products don’t require a hub, each has a direct WiFi connection to your network and you can add it and control it with the LIFX app.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.For the App, you need the Hub (Bridge). That is managed over the local network/wifi. You can use the bulbs with the dimmer switch only if that meets your needs, but you have less control over the lights.
