The price of both versions seems to be varying rapidly. The pricing noted in the question in mid January 2021 had just changed significantly and has again changed significantly in just the 3 weeks before this answer was written. Both the V3 and V4 prices have moderated substantially since mid January. This V3 kit with Zigbee only controller and 3m of LED strip is within $10 of its early January 2021 price. The V4 kit with Bluetooth and Zigbee controller and 2m of LED strip is around $10 more than this kit. Given the combination of a product phase-out and the unique economics of the year, periodic fluctuations in availability and pricing may occur from time to time. It may be better to buy when the price is good-enough this year and shop for the best price next year.
