If you have the hue bridge you will not really notice a difference in color, function or application. I have 3 sets and am absolutely pleased, especially at a discounted rate.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There's not really a difference in lighting quality, but the V3 hardware is less versatile for customizing the length. If you want to turn a corner by cutting the strip and using a corner connector, for example, you have to throw away 13" of the strip. This is because they don't have connections on both sides of the cut mark, just one side, but they fixed this issue with V4. Also, V3 and V4 are not compatible, because they changed the size of the connectors - something to think about if you already own one or the other.
