• There are no switches on the device at all. When you plug them in they will turn on. But you will not be able to control the lights without the hub and app.

• You'll need a Hue hub and the phone app or Siri (I have Google Home and that works as well).

• Yes, but with extremely limited functionality. It does not include a switch. When they are plugged in, they will be on. If you plug it into an outlet that operates off a wall switch, you can use that to turn them on or off. You will not have any control over colors. They will always be white.

• There is no switch. I use the app on my phone and Siri exclusively. Otherwise, I think you would have to plug/unplug which would be a total pain
