Please try again later.It is a clear tube so you will see the resistors, solder joints, leds and circuit strip but if your staircase is white or a light color, you won’t notice the strip that much so it might be just fine. If you have dark color or dark wood, it will definitely stick out since the internal strip is white and the tube is clear.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it will be tacky. You actually don’t want to see the light strip at all, you want to just see the light that shines from it. So mounting it behind an entertainment center or underneath kitchen cabinets is best

They ARE NOT thick/tacky like the Original Rope Lights from what 1999? Best Buy has a good return policy. KEEP your receipt and see what you think at home--just return within 14 days of purchase.
