“Does this (and the dimmable bulbs) work with a lamp that doesn't have a 3-way switch option? We have lamps that just turn on and off to one level of brightness and we'd like to install the smart bulbs and this dimmer option but don't know if the'd work?”

We have a Hue smart bulb in each of our bedside lamps and if you leave the switch to 'on' the smart bulb does the rest. The bulbs are dimmable without the switch through the Hue app, or your iOS/Android device. They are also programmable to turn on or off depending on certain rules you select.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can use the switch with hue lights. I think there are five pushes which can set levels of brightness like a three way bulb. You could set one push for full bright. Two pushes of on button for 60 percent bright three pushes for 30 percent bright. All adjustable in the hue app. There is also a dimmer up and down button on the remote to manually adjust brightness.
