I had two Norelco 3500 series (almost the same exact model as the 3000 series), and had the same exact issue both times. The first one lasted a little over a year, the second one lasted nearly 2.5 years until the spring broke in the one-touch open button. I always buy the Best Buy two-year warranty on these razors as it’s paid for itself many times over. It’s frustrating that manufacturers have design flaws like this but I’ll always stick with Norelco razors because I’m used to them and they do provide a good shave.
