not familiar with you vehicle but on my 2002 Jeep Wrangler when the flip up comes up it barley touchs the A/C vents and all is OK. One feature I like is once I have selected what I want I can push the button and the scrreen is stowed away and lets the A/C come through those two vents. I don't find any defaults with the flip up touching the dash. I hope this will help. I had Best Buy install it for me and the Tech wanted to know if I wanted to find another one, but we both seemed to agree it shouldn't be a problem. At least I had the option right there to change, also they give you some time to make up your mind after you leave the store to come back and change it out. As of today I can't think of a thing negative about this Radio.
