In my opinion you can never have to much hdd space. A lot of the time they are discounted because they are going to get newer models in or a promo to get people in the store. I work for a retailer and those are the man reason we do that
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We would think that this is just because the CAPACITY for flash drives has increased so much (Affordable 256 GB Flash Drives are now available on the retail market.), and so often (Like ALL Technology Does These Days), that lower capacities are not as much in demand. So there is probably a surplus of that capacity. But as always, read customer reviews, and above all make sure the vendor has a reliable return policy. Hope this helps. :)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's simple, they are smart trying to get rid of older, slower USB 2.0s at discounted price. Spend few more $$ to get the newest USB versions 3.0, 3.2...Happy hunting!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Most retailers are having good sales on USB 2 devices regardless of their size. Take advantage of the sales. Comparable USB 3 drives are significantly more expensive. If you don't need the speed save your money.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. More capacity means you can store more pics, data etc.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Because they are obsolete. In this day and age everything requires more memory. 32 m is equivalent to about 5 or 6 songs
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Prices of memory technologies are sharply declining, there is no reason to be suspicious of Best Buy, as they are being charged less for these products, they are passing the savings onto you. I would recommend getting the largest thumb drive that your wallet will allow, you may not need it now, but I can almost guarantee you will need it in the not so distant future. I just picked up a 128 GB thumb drive and it replaces 5 that I had before, when I only bought "what I need at the moment", major pain to keep track of!
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Obviously check reviews on any drive to make sure it's good but there's nothing wrong with buying more space than you need, having extra space is always great especially if you're a big photo/music/file person. My primary flash drive is a 32GB that I've been using for a couple years with no problems, and I use it pretty heavily. For me personally if I see a good deal on a drive that may be bigger that what I'm looking for i still usually get it. Flash drive have gotten considerably cheaper and continue to drop in cost so there should be nothing wrong with the discounted drives.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. To answer your questions: First I believe there is no downside to buying more storage than you need, you will have extra space just in case you need it. Second I believe they are discounting 32gb flash drives, because the demand is for larger storage. It appears the 32gb are discounted, but 64 gb are not discounted. Also a lot of people are using online storage, so 5 hey have to stay competitive. Sometimes stores discount items to get you in the store.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The item the question was asked about is a usb 2.0, which has slower speed than 3.0, making it cheaper. If the asking if time it takes to move/save data matters to you, you should buy a better usb thumb drive. Memory it's also much cheaper than it was just a few years earlier.
