The manual on your machine specifies that it comes with "256-MB DDR1 synchronous DRAM (SDRAM) at 333 MHz, expandable to 2.0 GB." Therefore, the max memory addressable by your machine by spec is only 2GB, not 4. On top of that the PNY module is DDR3 1066 MHz. This module is out of spec every way you look at it. It cannot be viewed at HP because HP has stopped supporting it and taken down their support links including for the manual.
