• The A300 does not have the ability to determine if one is doing bicep curls, squats, chest presses...One can however create a 'strength training' profile on the 'Flow' web service that supports the product. Doing so will record the exercise session as such and allow the user to pull reports on heart rate data (if purchased with the chest sensor) as a weight lifting session. - Mike @ Polar USA

• Yes, it will monitor motion only, you need the chest strap to monitor heart rate for a more accurate reading. It determines your calories burned and activity based on only those two things so if you are doing legs and do not have the chest strap you are not going to get much of a reading.

• Yes it does - gives you hr / time / and more but the display I chose give me heart rate and time length of current workout
