Are the pictures it takes grainy or clear null

Clear, however the menu system is hard to figure out. Even initial setup I had to do three times because it wasn't clear which buttons did what. If you just want to take pictures, its straightforward but when I tried to switch between picture and video mode I got it wrong 90% of the time.
