• The USB slot is for downloading images, a computer will recognize the camera's memory card as a drive when plugged in. Be aware that the camera must be powered on to do that, and that when you have the battery door open to access the USB port, the AA batteries are disconnected from their terminals so the camera is running on computer power through the USB cord.
