• The bass is pretty good for the size but there is never a stand alone replacement for the full sound that a subwoofer provides. IMHO.

• Hello, pairing a subwoofer with Bookshelf speakers is common. Adding a subwoofer would be recommended if looking for room-filling bass similar to a floor-standing speaker. Sub/bookshelf pairings can often be better than a floor-standing speaker, as this combo can provide more flexibility.
