No, should be hooked up to the surround speaker on the avr receiver. (front height) or (surround) on back of receiver.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The S55 speakers have 2 sets of binding posts to allow for Bi-amping. Speakers with this ability, allows for connecting a second amplifier increasing the power sent to a speaker. Bi-wire is another benefit allowing a higher gauge of wire and a more direct signal path. This is not possible with speakers that have only one set of binding posts. Please do not connect the XT70 and XT90 speakers together. This will increase ohm load and resistance. If your Onkyo is Atmos, configure your receiver accordingly. If it is not Atmos, Set the XT90 speakers behind the listening position and use as surround backs temporarily until you upgrade your receiver to an Atmos unit.
