“I have an older Insignia TV which does have an HDMI (ARC) connection. I connected the Signa S2 with HDMI no sound. Also changed the output to be PCM, no sound. Bluetooth works fine. TV does not have an optical plug. Suggestions?”

Maybe try an HDMI to 3.5mm mini connector & plug into the aux input.
