No but it never hurts to have one, bass output is good as long as you have a good about receiver for playback.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have an old system and couldn't attach the sub-woofer even if I wanted to, Based on the age of my system, If you like a very deep base sound, yes. If you have a newer system that has ample base, then no. If you decide to get a sub-woofer make sure to check the connectors. My system was top of the line when I purchased it, but technology has changed so, just saying. Hope this helps with your decision.
