The player comes with a couple of cords, so should connect with a smart TV, though I haven't tried that. Sound is a little tinny, but much better with the earbuds, which are included.

The only converter/adapter cables that can be connected directly to the TV and supplied with the Proscan BLU-RAY Player, are the analog (red, white & yellow) cable(s).
