From what I have seen so far, yes you can use it for that purpose

You can use it as a payable then make the computer print your check, which will put your entries directly into the check register. Or the way I do it I make eft payments or write checks and then manually pot the entries myself into the check register. Either way, to can still reconcile your bank statement.
