• Razer Synapse is required to customize any buttons. It will work plug n play for some features.

• You can use it as it is, without Razer's Synapse software, no need for it. However if you want to have full control of the lighting, DPI settings, program buttons, lightning timeout (to save more battery) etc, I will highly recommend it. I know many other pieces of software out there are just trash and mostly bloat, however Razer's synapse is good and doesn't bloat or slow down my pc at all. So, I will highly recommend you do install it.

• Yes, you can plug and play with it, and it can store profiles on the mouse itself. The software is needed for new control mappings and for and for controlling the RGB.
