• The wrist rest is not actually "attached" it just slides up against it.

• it just pushes up to rest against keyboard, kept moving around and I have many keyboards on desk. I got Velcro strips from hardware store and it stays together really well. Perfect solution.

• Yes, it doesnt really attach just slides into place.

• It doesn't attach directly to the keyboard. Instead it lays in front of it with it own set of non slip tabs on the bottom. It is a totally optional piece.
