• It needs an adapter if you have an original Xbox One controller. Only the newer ones have 3.5 ports.

• Newer Xbox one controllers have a 3.5mm jack and will directly work with this headset. The headset has volume and mic mute controls. That said, I do really like to use an adapter so I don't have to take my hands off the controller
