Hello! Yes, in order for the B1 to work as intended it needs both batteries and a memory card.

6 AA batteries, although it does allow you to plug it in so that you can use the wall or a power bank as a power supply. Takes up to a 32GB sd card. It does not come with either item

You need both , batteries and micro SD card 32GB.
