You can operate it all on the App. I have the keypad, and between Alexa, the App and my latest acquisition, the Kwikset 914 deadbolt, I haven't touched the keypad in the longest time. That deadbolt will arm and disarm the alarm, if you set it up that way.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have two keypads setup on my alarm but I would think if I were to disable both on them I could still control the alarm from my app. I have one on the main level and one in the basement and both are plugged into the wall for power. The rechargeable battery in the keypad is supposed to last about 6 months but I decided to leave them plugged in. Keypads also allow you to setup a guest account if needed. The system lets you setup separate users in your household as well, so everyone can have their own passcode. I am very happy with Ring. Setup was easy. I did have to get an alarm permit because I went with 24hr monitoring. RIng told me I didn’t need a permit but my Police Dept. told me I did. In my town, it was a one time fee for both Fire and Police. Best of all, I got a $300 discount on my house insurance, so it all paid for itself. I will soon be adding fire alarms and flood detectors, so who knows maybe my insurance may go down even more.
