“What about the base station & the key pad. Can these operate without being plugged in? If so, how long will they hold a charge for or need to be recharged. I have been told the rest of the system holds a charge for approx. 3 years”

• Mine is working on 6 months and still going with no recharge. Its incredible. Wonder why our phones cant perform this way.

• The base station and keypad can operate on battery only. I haven't owned the system long enough to determine how long before a charge is required.
