Unfortunately, they say a 35 pound animal will trigger the motion detector. But my 20 pound Pomeranian always triggers ours. For our RING security system, we have to arm our home as HOME when we leave. If we set it as AWAY, the dog sets the motion off. For the flood light camera out in the back, the sensitivity can be adjusted to not pick up people or large animals. Mine is set to pick up everything, so i always see alerts at 4am when the neighborhood raccoon or opposum makes their rounds checking trashcans.

With the cameras, you can draw an area on the screen where you want the motion to be detected. If you limited it to areas above or around where the dogs would roam, you should be good to go. We have small dogs, which would occasionally trigger motion detection, so I limited the detection to a few feet above the ground, which did the trick. No more false alarms.
