It will. I’ve installed these on soffits 3 floors up (2 story home on a basement) and the picture quality and motion sending wasn’t deterred at all. Now I’m sure in some instances it could be effected such as temp and obstacles. But for the most part you should be just fine

From this height, your Floodlight Cam can cover a wide visual area, as well as capture HD video of visitors' faces. When Floodlight Cam is mounted too low, it reduces your Optimal Motion Zone. This can work if you're only looking to detect motion in a very small area, but more often than not results in not detecting approaching visitors or capturing the top of heads when the sensors are triggered. Don't be afraid to mount your Floodlight Cam high. It will capture clear video of visitors' faces and cover a wide visual area. You'll be more likely to capture the events you want to know about and be notified as soon as they happen.
