Absolutely. I removed the old worn out motion floodlight and simply wired into existing light outlet. Just be sure to not turn off that outlet! The WiFi is throng enough in the house thankfully. This unit would have to connect to WiFi.

However, as the Floodlight Camera requires a junction box as well as wiring up live wires, it's recommended you hire a licensed electrician to install the Floodlight Cam. The Ring Floodlight Cam should be connected to a 100 VAC~240 VAC 50/60 Hz power source. The old flood lights needed to be on a switch so that the light could be controlled by manipulating the switch, changed it from "off" to "on" to "on with motion" to "on dusk to dawn", but the Ring doesn't need to be on a switch - it is fully controlled and programmable through the app. It does need a proper attachment point, i.e. the round gang box usually found with an old flood light. By the way, this light/camera is awesome. I replaced my older Samsung system with this, and it is far more user friendly, dependable, and higher quality of video. Highly recommend!
