How do you remove the base to mount the camera from the ceiling? Previous models came with a ceiling mount and the newest ones from Lowe’s cannot remove the base or use a ceiling mount null

There are 2 screws in the box or use 2 small screws of your choosing.
Just slide the very bottom part of the base down, (Opposite the "UP" direction indicated)
Mount the plate in the propper orientation, and slide the camera back onto it. 
Use the app to invert the image if needed.

it doesn't help to have an inside camera that can't be mounted to a wall or ceiling...what is the model that has the detachable base?

Great question! The base does not detach from the Ring Indoor Cam. You can install the Ring Indoor Cam upside down. Depending on the way your Indoor Cam (1st Gen or 2nd Gen) is placed—usually when it's mounted on the ceiling—you may find that Live View and videos are upside down. To fix this, simply adjust your camera's video orientation in the Ring app.
