The Ring Video Doorbell 3 followed the Ring Video Doorbell 2 (now discontinued) as the next generation of Ring doorbells. In addition to new video features such as Near Zone functionality, the Video Doorbell 3 has dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wifi connectivity and improved energy efficiency. The Ring Video Doorbell 3 can be hardwired to an existing doorbell system or paired with a Ring Chime. If hardwiring to an existing doorbell system or transformer with 8–24 VAC, 40 VA maximum, and 50/60 Hz for continuous charging.
