However, it is compatible with most digital and mechanical doorbell systems powered by a transformer (8-24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz). When hardwiring this doorbell to a compatible system it should auto-detect the type of chime kit you have and ring the chime kit inside your home when the button is pressed. The Ring Video Doorbell 3 followed the Ring Video Doorbell 2 (now discontinued) as the next generation of Ring doorbell. In addition to new video features such as Near Zone functionality, the Video Doorbell 3 has dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wifi connectivity and improved energy efficiency.
