“Do you have to do anything special to the doorbell wiring. Normal doorbells only have power to one side. Then the doorbell button is pressed it completes the circuit to make the doorbell ring. Do you have to go in and wire the chime wires togethet?”

I installed the ring doorbell without using the existing door bell wiring. I linked the ring doorbell to Alexa, so "she" announces throughout the house when someone touches the ring doorbell button. Works really well, because we can get the Alexa notifications while in the backyard using the Alexa dots.
