• No wiring is needed but purchase an extra battery so your ring is always on. The chime is not necessary but allows you to hear the doorbell camera inside your home or room.

You also don't have to necessarily hardwire it, as It is capable of operating on battery power from the included Ring Quick Release Battery Pack.
