You can take the splitter into your local Best Buy's Geek Squad counter for testing. If the unit was taken out by the lighting strike it would not be covered under warranty as acts of God are not covered.

I'll submit it anyway, just in case there's another old person like me out there who has the same problem... Perhaps you have tried this already, but if I had this problem, I would find two items that work properly together with a single HDMI cable between them, such as Mac to monitor, so that you know that there's nothing wrong with the HDMI, nor the connectors on either destinations. Then I would take a second HDMI and do the same. Once you have that much working and verified, why not just try to go from point A (say a Mac) to the box (Rocketfish Splitter) with the one HDMI, and from the box to point B (say the monitor), with the other HDMI, and if this works, great. Then try the same arrangement, but with the other slot on the box. If both work, then you know that much. Next try it with a third previously tested and verified destination. If nothing else, you may be able to narrow down, and therefore verify, a problem, or discover that the problem isn't the box. Make sense?
