Q: QuestionIf I wanted to have two antenna aimed in different directions for maximum channel pickup, can I use this to functionally bridge them and input to my TV? Has anyone ever tried this using 1 antenna as control, another as extra channel pickup?

• A:Answer I’m not an expert, but based on my recent research, I don’t think this item will work for that. You need a signal combiner, not a splitter. This item is a splitter with 1 In and 2 Outs, so you could connect the signal coming in from 1 antenna out to 2 TVs with this. I had to buy something else to connect 2 coaxial cables to 1 TV, it needs to have 2 Ins and 1 Out. I got a coaxial switch, which actually has a manual switch to change from A to B input. You can also get combiners without the switch, and I have seen products that say they are both splitters & combiners, but I haven’t tried these.

• A:Answer Tony That is exactly what I tried to do. I only had one cable coming from the wall instead of the usual two cables and Xfinity wants me to pay adding the second cable. I have a new Roku TV and when I used the splitter, the cable signal was too weak for the TV to work so I am back to arguing with Xfinity to get them to pay for the extra cable. I believe they should have installed two from the original installation. i recently purchased the house. Most likey the giant will win and I will eat the $70 bucks. Hope this helps.

• A:Answer It should I don't think the number of splits mean anything just that you have the right cables in the right spot so it splits correctly. Make sure the in is going into the in spot and all other cables are for devices.

Q: QuestionWe connected out digital antennae to this splitter input. One output we have a coaxial cable into our TV in the LR. The other is empty -- for now. We are getting NO signal on the tV and I'm wondering whether we can't leave the line empty?

• A:Answer Have you attempted running straight to the TV to see if the antenna is actually picking up any channels? I'd attempt to verify the antenna is picking up content first. Once you know its actually is working go from there. It should be able to function fine without two devices connected.
