Is this what I need? I have a modem with 2 telephone inputs, router input, usb input, and one tv input. I would like to add another tv, is this the product I need? I will only be using one tv at a time, will it still affect the signal to the tv that is in use?

This will split the cable feed to your modem to allow you to hook up a tv box from the same feed, it will attenuate the signal even if you aren't using the tv box, but the loss is negligible unless you are stringing splitters.

Yes, it could be used to split the signal between the modem and the other television. You may need a signal amplifier for the television if you get weak reception.

This product would allow you to add the TV although I would probably go with the splitter that divides it 3 ways.
