It all depends on the weight of the television. Drywall alone without studs will not hold very much weight

You should double-check your drywall thickness, as any location in your house that was original will be the same, most likely, throughout the rest of the home. Best way to check thickness is to pull a baseboard off and measure the bottom of the wall. After that, you need appropriate drywall anchors. There are anchors that are rated for 150lbs, so getting those to hold a TV mount would be a great idea (around $10 for those).

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Put two mounting 1 x 3 x ? and attach to studs. Use strong grade of wood and Long enough Screws with a washer. Then mount bracket to mounting boards. Two boards should be apart the distance so you can mount Bracket to them.
